Prep
- In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, 1/2 cup panko, parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, egg, salt, and pepper. Use your hands or a fork to mix until just combined - do not overwork or the patties will be tough.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into 1/2-inch thick patties, about 3 inches wide. Spread a thin layer of panko on a plate and press both sides of each patty into the crumbs for a light coating.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F for 3 minutes. Lightly spray the basket with olive oil spray.
- Arrange patties in a single layer with space between them. Spray the tops lightly with oil. Cook for 6 minutes, then flip carefully with a thin spatula, spray again, and cook 5-6 minutes more until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and the exterior is deep golden brown.
- Transfer patties to a plate and let rest for 3 minutes - this keeps them juicy. Serve on buns with your favorite toppings, or alongside a salad and roasted vegetables.
Notes
For extra crispy patties, chill the formed patties in the refrigerator for 15 minutes before cooking. Swap ground chicken for ground turkey with no other changes needed. Leftover patties reheat beautifully in the air fryer at 350°F for 4-5 minutes.
