Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, flour, and vanilla extract until well coated. Spread evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the apple mixture, covering the entire surface.
- Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix. Make sure to cover as much as possible to avoid dry spots.
- If using, sprinkle chopped nuts over the top for extra crunch.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are bubbly. If the top starts browning too quickly, loosely cover with foil for the last 10 minutes.
- Let the cobbler cool for 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
Notes
Store leftover cobbler in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 10-15 minutes, or in the microwave for 30 seconds per serving.
