Ingredients

Base
  • 1 large frozen banana peeled and frozen in chunks
  • 1 cup frozen raspberries fresh or frozen
  • 0.75 cup milk dairy or oat milk
  • 0.5 cup Greek yogurt plain, full-fat for creaminess
Boosters
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup optional, to taste
  • 0.25 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp chia seeds optional, for fiber
  • 3-4 ice cubes if using fresh fruit

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring Cups

Method

Blend
  1. Add milk and yogurt to the blender first, then top with frozen banana chunks, raspberries, honey (if using), vanilla, and chia seeds. This layering helps the blades grab the soft ingredients first.
  2. Start on low speed for 10 seconds to break up the fruit, then increase to high and blend for 45-60 seconds until completely smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides once if needed.
  3. If too thick, add milk 1 tablespoon at a time. If too thin, add a few ice cubes or more frozen banana. Blend 10 more seconds to incorporate.
  4. Pour into two glasses and drink right away while cold and frothy. The texture is best within 10 minutes of blending.

Notes

Freeze overripe bananas in chunks for the creamiest texture - they blend smoother than ice and add natural sweetness. For a dairy-free version, use oat milk and coconut yogurt; the combo is surprisingly rich. If using fresh raspberries instead of frozen, add extra ice to keep it thick and cold.
