Ingredients

For the Smoothie
  • 1.5 cup frozen blueberries wild blueberries if available for extra flavor
  • 1 medium banana ripe, peeled, can be frozen for extra thickness
  • 1 cup milk almond milk, soy milk, dairy milk, or water
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt optional, for extra protein and creaminess
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup, adjust to taste
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract optional, for enhanced flavor
  • 4-5 ice cubes optional, for a colder, thicker smoothie, especially if using fresh fruit

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Drinking glasses

Method

Combine Ingredients
  1. Add all ingredients into the blender in the following order: milk, Greek yogurt (if using), banana, blueberries, honey/maple syrup (if using), vanilla extract (if using), and finally ice cubes (if using). This layering helps the blender process more smoothly.
  2. Secure the lid on the blender. Start blending on a low speed, then gradually increase to high. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy, with no visible chunks of fruit. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides of the blender with a spatula if ingredients get stuck, or add a splash more milk if it's too thick.
  3. Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness if desired by adding more honey or maple syrup, then blend again briefly to incorporate.
  4. Pour the finished Berry Bliss Blueberry Power Smoothie into two glasses. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For an extra nutritional boost, consider adding a scoop of protein powder, a tablespoon of chia seeds or flax seeds, or a handful of spinach (you won't taste it!). Best enjoyed fresh. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours, but be aware that the texture may change slightly. Stir well before drinking.
