- First things first, gather all your ingredients and make sure your frozen fruits are ready to go. A high-speed blender will give you the creamiest results.
- Add the frozen blueberries, frozen pineapple chunks, ripe banana (preferably frozen), milk of your choice, and chia seeds into the high-speed blender container. If you're using it, add the optional honey or maple syrup now too.
- Secure the lid on your blender. Start blending on a low speed, gradually increasing to high until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy, with no visible chunks of fruit. You might need to use a tamper, if your blender has one, to push the ingredients down towards the blades.
- Take a look at the consistency. If the smoothie is too thick for your liking, add a splash more milk, about a tablespoon at a time, and blend again until you reach your desired pourable consistency. If you prefer it colder or a bit thinner, add the optional ice cubes and blend for another 15-30 seconds until they are fully incorporated.
- Once it's perfectly smooth and has your preferred consistency, pour the blueberry pineapple smoothie into two glasses. Serve it immediately to enjoy its frosty, refreshing goodness!
Notes
1. For an extra boost of protein and creaminess, consider adding 1/2 cup of plain Greek yogurt or your favorite plant-based yogurt to the blender along with the other ingredients.
2. If your banana isn't frozen, don't worry! Just add an extra handful of ice cubes (beyond the optional 0.5 cup) to help achieve that perfectly frosty, thick texture that makes smoothies so satisfying.
3. Make future smoothie prep a breeze by creating frozen smoothie packs. Simply combine all the frozen fruit and chia seeds into individual freezer-safe bags. When you're ready for a smoothie, just dump the contents into the blender, add your milk and optional sweetener, and blend!
