Ingredients

Smoothie Base
  • 1.5 cups frozen blueberries frozen creates thicker texture
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt 2% or full-fat for creaminess
  • 0.5 cup milk dairy or oat milk, plus more if needed
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup or to taste
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice brightens the berry flavor
  • 1 tsp chia seeds optional, for fiber and thickness

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring Cups

Method

Blend
  1. Add milk to blender first, then yogurt, followed by frozen blueberries, honey, vanilla, lemon juice, and chia seeds if using. This order helps the blender pull frozen fruit down smoothly.
  2. Start on low speed for 10 seconds to break up berries, then increase to high and blend 45-60 seconds until completely smooth and no blueberry skins remain visible. Stop and scrape down sides once if needed.
  3. If too thick to pour, add milk 1 tablespoon at a time and pulse to combine. For a thicker smoothie bowl texture, add 1/4 cup more frozen berries and blend again.
  4. Pour into two glasses and drink right away while cold and frothy. The smoothie will thin as it sits.

Notes

For the creamiest texture, freeze your own blueberries at peak ripeness rather than buying pre-frozen. Swap blueberries for any frozen berry, or use half banana for natural sweetness and extra body. Make smoothie packs by pre-portioning frozen fruit and dry ingredients into freezer bags; just dump into blender with yogurt and milk when ready.
