Equipment

  • Large skillet or frying pan
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Whisk
  • Tongs or spatula
  • Cutting board and knife
  • Airtight container (for storage)
  • Plastic wrap and freezer-safe bag (for freezing leftovers)

Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in chicken thighs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  • Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper. Dredge them in the flour, shaking off any excess.
  • Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes per side.
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside. Add the chicken broth, milk, thyme, and paprika to the skillet. Whisk to combine and bring to a simmer.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet and reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the gravy has thickened.
  • Serve the chicken and gravy hot, with mashed potatoes, rice, or any side of your choice.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add herbs like thyme or rosemary to the gravy. Serve with mashed potatoes or rice to soak up the delicious sauce!
