Ingredients

For the Copycat Chick-fil-A Sauce
  • 1 cup mayonnaise full-fat for best results
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce use your favorite sweet and smoky variety
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder

Equipment

  • Medium mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

Make the Sauce
  1. Grab a medium-sized mixing bowl. Add the mayonnaise, honey, BBQ sauce, Dijon mustard, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and apple cider vinegar to the bowl.
  2. Sprinkle in the smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder over the wet ingredients.
  3. Using a whisk, vigorously combine all the ingredients until the sauce is completely smooth and homogenous. Make sure there are no lumps and all the spices are fully incorporated.
  4. Give your sauce a taste. If you like it a little sweeter, add another tiny dash of honey. If you want more tang, a squeeze more lemon juice or a drop more vinegar can do the trick.
  5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer the sauce to an airtight container. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This chilling time is essential, allowing the flavors to meld and deepen for that authentic taste.
  6. Once chilled, give the sauce a final stir before serving. It's ready to elevate your chicken, fries, or whatever you're dipping!

Notes

Chill Time is Key: Seriously, don't skip the chilling step! It truly allows the flavors to deepen and come together, making it taste much more like the real deal. nServing Suggestions: This sauce is absolutely amazing with chicken nuggets (of course!), chicken tenders, French fries, or even as a dip for roasted veggies. Get creative! nMake Ahead & Storage: You can easily make this sauce up to 5-7 days in advance. Store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Just give it a good stir before serving.
