Method
Prepare the Wonton Strips (Optional)
- Heat vegetable oil in a small saucepan over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C). Fry wonton strips in small batches until golden brown and crispy, about 30-60 seconds. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray wonton strips with cooking spray. Air fry for 3-5 minutes, shaking basket halfway, until golden and crispy.
Prepare the Crab Rangoon Topping
- In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, finely flaked imitation crab meat, 2 tablespoons of sliced green onions, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined and smooth.
Assemble the Pizza
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating.
- On a lightly floured surface or parchment paper, roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness and shape (approximately 12-14 inches in diameter). Transfer to a pizza pan or baking sheet.
- Evenly spread the crab rangoon filling over the pizza dough, leaving about a 1/2-inch border for the crust.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the crab rangoon filling.
Bake the Pizza
- Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Finish and Serve
- Carefully remove the pizza from the oven. Garnish with the remaining 1 tablespoon of fresh green onions and the prepared crispy wonton strips.
- If desired, drizzle sweet chili sauce over the pizza before slicing. Slice and serve hot.
Notes
For an extra flavor boost, you can add a pinch of ginger powder to the crab rangoon filling. Real crab meat can be used instead of imitation crab for a richer flavor; ensure it's well-drained. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in an oven or air fryer for best results to maintain crispiness.
