  • 4 croissants preferably day-old, sliced in half lengthwise
  • 3 eggs large
  • 1/2 cup milk or heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp butter for cooking
  • maple syrup for serving
Optional Add-ins
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg for extra warmth
  • 1 tsp orange zest for a citrus twist
  • 1 tsp brown sugar for added sweetness
Toppings
  • powdered sugar for dusting
  • fresh berries such as strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries
  • whipped cream
  • chocolate chips for extra indulgence

Method
 

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and any optional add-ins.
  2. Slice croissants in half lengthwise.
  3. Dip each croissant half into the egg mixture, making sure to coat both sides without oversoaking.
  4. Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt the butter.
  5. Place the soaked croissants on the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Transfer to a serving plate and repeat with the remaining croissants.
  7. Top with powdered sugar, fresh berries, whipped cream, or your favorite toppings.
  8. Drizzle with maple syrup and serve immediately.
