Fiery Dragon Sauce

Ingredients
  

For the Sauce Base
  • 1/2 cup Sriracha Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce low sodium recommended
  • 2 tbsp Rice Vinegar unseasoned
  • 2 tbsp Honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Toasted Sesame Oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Ginger grated
  • 1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes optional, for extra heat
For the Slurry
  • 1/4 cup Cold Water
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch

Method
 

Prepare Ingredients
  1. Mince the garlic cloves and grate the fresh ginger.
Make the Slurry
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the cold water and cornstarch until no lumps remain. Set aside.
Combine Sauce Base
  1. In a small saucepan, combine the Sriracha, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey (or brown sugar), toasted sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and optional red pepper flakes.
Cook the Sauce
  1. Place the saucepan over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally. Cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
Thicken the Sauce
  1. Whisk the cornstarch slurry one more time, then slowly pour it into the simmering sauce while continuously whisking. Continue to whisk and simmer for another 1-2 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.
Serve
  1. Remove the Fiery Dragon Sauce from heat. Taste and adjust sweetness or spice if desired. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

This sauce is incredibly versatile! Use it as a dipping sauce for spring rolls, dumplings, or chicken wings. Drizzle it over grilled meats, stir-fries, or even noodles. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
