- Wash, peel, and grate the potatoes.
- Soak grated potatoes in cold water for at least 15 minutes to remove excess starch.
- Drain the potatoes and squeeze out as much moisture as possible using a kitchen towel.
- Season the potatoes with salt, pepper, and optional seasonings like garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil or cooking spray.
- Add the seasoned potatoes in a thin, even layer in the air fryer basket.
- Air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket or flipping the hash browns halfway through cooking.
- Cook until golden and crispy.
Notes
For frozen shredded hash browns, cook at 380°F for 8-10 minutes. For frozen hash brown patties, cook at 380°F for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze cooked hash browns for up to 3 months.
