For the Pizza Dough
  • 1 lb Store-bought pizza dough room temperature, for 12-14 inch pizza
For the Sausage & Eggs
  • 1 lb Bulk breakfast sausage uncooked, crumbled
  • 6 large Eggs
  • 2 tbsp Milk or heavy cream, for eggs
  • 1 tbsp Unsalted butter
  • 1/4 tsp Salt or to taste
  • 1/8 tsp Black pepper or to taste
For the Creamy Base
  • 4 oz Cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp Onion powder optional
  • 1/4 tsp Salt or to taste
  • 1/8 tsp Black pepper or to taste
For the Topping & Garnish
  • 2 cups Shredded cheddar cheese or a cheddar-monterey jack blend
  • 2 medium Green onions sliced, for garnish (optional)
  • 1 tsp Olive oil for brushing dough

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Whisk
  • Baking Sheet or Pizza Stone
  • Spatula

Method

Prepare the Components
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven during preheating. Lightly grease a large baking sheet with olive oil or cooking spray if not using a stone.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the crumbled breakfast sausage, breaking it apart with a spoon, until fully browned and cooked through. Drain any excess grease and set the sausage aside on a paper towel-lined plate.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, 2 tablespoons milk, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/8 teaspoon black pepper until well combined. Melt butter in the same skillet (or a clean one) over medium heat. Pour in the egg mixture and scramble until just set but still moist. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. In another small bowl, whisk together the softened cream cheese, 1/4 cup milk, garlic powder, onion powder (if using), 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/8 teaspoon black pepper until smooth and creamy. This will be your pizza base sauce.
Assemble the Pizza
  1. On a lightly floured surface, stretch or roll out the pizza dough into a 12-14 inch circle. Carefully transfer the dough to your prepared baking sheet or a piece of parchment paper if using a pizza stone. Brush the edges of the dough with 1 teaspoon of olive oil for a crispier crust.
  2. Spread the creamy base mixture evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border for the crust. Sprinkle about half of the shredded cheese over the cream cheese base.
  3. Evenly distribute the cooked scrambled eggs over the cheese layer. Then, scatter the cooked breakfast sausage crumbles over the eggs.
  4. Top the pizza with the remaining shredded cheese.
Bake and Serve
  1. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. If using a pizza stone, slide the pizza directly onto the hot stone.
  2. Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for 2-3 minutes before slicing. Garnish with sliced green onions, if desired.
  3. Slice into 8 pieces and serve warm. Enjoy your delicious homemade sausage breakfast pizza!

Notes

Storage: Leftover breakfast pizza can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer for best results.
Customization: Feel free to add other breakfast favorites like diced bell peppers, sautéed mushrooms, or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for a bit of heat. A drizzle of hot sauce after baking is also a great addition!
