Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1.5 cups frozen pineapple chunks for a thick, cold smoothie
  • 1 inch fresh ginger peeled and roughly chopped
  • 0.5 inch fresh turmeric root peeled and roughly chopped, or 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 cup coconut water or regular water, adjust for desired consistency
  • 1 tbsp lime juice freshly squeezed, enhances flavors
  • 1 pinch black pepper enhances turmeric absorption
Optional Sweetener
  • 1-2 tsp honey or maple syrup adjust to taste, if pineapple isn't sweet enough

Equipment

  • High-Speed Blender
  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Vegetable Peeler

Method

Blend
  1. Add the frozen pineapple chunks, peeled and chopped fresh ginger, peeled and chopped fresh turmeric (or ground turmeric), coconut water, freshly squeezed lime juice, and a pinch of black pepper into your high-speed blender.
  2. If using, add the optional honey or maple syrup now.
  3. Secure the lid and blend on high speed until completely smooth and creamy. If the mixture is too thick, add a little more coconut water (or regular water) a tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness or ginger/turmeric levels if desired by adding more of the respective ingredients and blending again briefly.
  5. Pour immediately into two glasses and serve. Enjoy this refreshing and healthy Pineapple Ginger Turmeric Immunity Smoothie!

Notes

For best results, use a high-speed blender to ensure a smooth consistency, especially with fresh ginger and turmeric. If you don't have fresh turmeric, 1/2 teaspoon of ground turmeric can be used, though fresh provides a more vibrant flavor. The black pepper is crucial as it significantly enhances the bioavailability of curcumin (the active compound in turmeric). This smoothie is best enjoyed fresh. You can prep ginger and turmeric by peeling and chopping them ahead of time and storing in the fridge for up to a few days.
