Method
- Carefully split each English muffin in half using a fork or your fingers to create a textured surface. Arrange the 8 halves cut-side up on a baking sheet, in a toaster oven tray, or in an air fryer basket (working in batches if necessary).
- Preheat your chosen appliance. For a conventional oven or toaster oven, preheat to 375°F (190°C). If using an air fryer, preheat to 350°F (175°C).
- Spread about 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce evenly over the cut surface of each English muffin half, leaving a small border.
- Sprinkle approximately 2 tablespoons of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce on each muffin half. If using pepperoni, arrange a few mini pepperonis on top of the cheese.
- Lightly sprinkle each pizza with Italian seasoning and a pinch of red pepper flakes, if desired.
- Choose your cooking method: * **Oven/Toaster Oven**: Bake for 8-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden at the edges, and the muffin edges are lightly toasted. * **Air Fryer**: Air fry for 5-8 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning, as air fryer times can vary.
- Carefully remove the English muffin pizzas from the oven or air fryer. Let them cool for a minute or two before serving hot.
Notes
**Customization**: Feel free to add your favorite pizza toppings like diced bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, cooked sausage, or ham. Just ensure any meat toppings are pre-cooked.
**Storage**: Leftover English muffin pizzas can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Reheat in a toaster oven or air fryer for best results.
