Ingredients

Fruit
  • 1.5 cups frozen strawberries whole or sliced
  • 1 medium frozen banana peeled and frozen in chunks
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple chunks
Liquid & Extras
  • 0.5 cup orange juice freshly squeezed or high-quality store-bought
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened almond milk or coconut water for more tropical flavor
  • 0.25 cup Greek yogurt plain, for creaminess and protein
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup optional, if fruit is not fully ripe
  • 0.25 tsp vanilla extract

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring Cups

Method

Blend
  1. Add liquids first: pour orange juice and almond milk into the blender. This helps the blades catch the frozen fruit more easily.
  2. Add Greek yogurt, vanilla, and honey if using. Top with frozen strawberries, banana chunks, and pineapple. Press down gently with a spoon if needed.
  3. Start on low speed for 10 seconds to break up large pieces, then increase to high. Blend for 45-60 seconds until completely smooth and no fruit chunks remain. Stop and scrape down sides with a spatula if the blender stalls.
  4. If too thick, add 2 tablespoons more liquid and pulse to combine. If too thin, add a few more frozen strawberries and blend briefly. The smoothie should pour slowly from a spoon.
  5. Pour into two glasses and serve right away. Smoothie is best enjoyed within 30 minutes before it starts to separate.

Notes

Freeze your own ripe bananas for the best sweetness and texture - peel, break into chunks, and freeze flat on a baking sheet before bagging. For a dairy-free version, use coconut yogurt or simply omit the yogurt and add extra frozen banana for creaminess. Prep smoothie packs by portioning frozen fruit into freezer bags; just dump into the blender with liquids when ready.
