- Add the packed cilantro, mayonnaise, sour cream (or Greek yogurt), lime juice, minced garlic, deseeded jalapeño (if using), ground cumin, salt, and black pepper to a food processor or high-speed blender.
- Process all ingredients until completely smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides of the bowl or blender jar as needed to ensure everything is well combined.
- If the sauce is too thick for your liking, add water or milk one tablespoon at a time while blending, until you reach your desired consistency.
- Taste the sauce and adjust seasonings as necessary. You may want to add more lime juice for tang, salt for flavor, or a pinch more cumin.
- Serve the Cilantro Lime Sauce immediately, or transfer it to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes for the flavors to meld and deepen. This also helps the sauce chill and thicken slightly.
