Method
Prepare the Shrimp
- In a medium bowl, combine the shrimp, olive oil, minced garlic, oregano, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and black pepper. Toss until shrimp are evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 30 minutes.
Preheat Oven & Prepare Dough
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) with a pizza stone or baking sheet inside for at least 20-30 minutes to ensure it's piping hot.
- On a lightly floured surface or parchment paper, stretch or roll out the pizza dough into a 12-14 inch circle. If using parchment, dust it lightly with cornmeal to prevent sticking.
Assemble the Pizza
- Carefully transfer the dough (on parchment if using) to the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet.
- Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border around the edges.
- Sprinkle half of the mozzarella and provolone cheeses over the sauce.
- Arrange the marinated shrimp, thinly sliced red onion, and diced bell pepper evenly over the cheese.
- Top with the remaining mozzarella, provolone, and all of the grated Parmesan cheese.
Bake the Pizza
- Bake for 12-18 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted and bubbly with some browned spots. The shrimp should be opaque and cooked through.
Finish and Serve
- Carefully remove the pizza from the oven. Let it cool for 2-3 minutes before slicing to allow the cheese to set.
- Garnish with fresh chopped parsley. Slice and serve hot.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add an extra pinch of red pepper flakes to the shrimp marinade or a drizzle of hot honey after baking. Ensure your pizza stone or baking sheet is very hot before adding the pizza for a crispier crust. Leftover pizza can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a preheated oven or air fryer for best results.
