Ingredients

  • 1 cup Frozen Blueberries
  • 1/2 Lemon juiced and zested (about 1.5 - 2 tbsp juice)
  • 1/2 cup Greek Yogurt plain or vanilla
  • 1/2 cup Milk dairy or non-dairy (almond, oat, soy)
  • 1 tsp Honey or Maple Syrup or to taste, optional
  • 1 tsp Chia Seeds optional, for extra fiber and thickness
  • 3-4 Ice Cubes optional, for extra chill and thickness

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Spoons

Method

Prepare Ingredients
  1. Before you begin, ensure your blueberries are frozen. If using fresh lemon, zest half of it and then juice it to yield about 1.5 to 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice.
Blend the Smoothie
  1. Add the frozen blueberries, fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, Greek yogurt, milk, optional honey or maple syrup, and optional chia seeds to your blender. If using ice cubes, add them now.
  2. Secure the lid and blend on high speed until all ingredients are completely smooth and creamy. If the smoothie is too thick, add an extra splash of milk (1-2 tablespoons) and blend again until desired consistency is reached.
Serve
  1. Pour the Zesty Lemon Blueberry Smoothie into a glass and serve immediately. Enjoy your refreshing and nutritious drink!

Notes

For an extra protein boost, add 1 scoop of vanilla or unflavored protein powder. If you prefer a sweeter smoothie, start with 1 teaspoon of honey or maple syrup and add more to taste. For a thicker smoothie, use less milk or add a few more frozen blueberries. This smoothie is best enjoyed fresh.
